Invasive Water Chestnut in my Neighborhood?
It Might be More Likely Than You Think!

Come join the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP) in pulling water chestnut at Shaddock Pond in Hurleyville, NY on Saturday, August 13th.

But wait, that’s not all!  Recently the CRISP Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) team found frogbit (Hydrocharis morsus-ranae) hidden among the water chestnut.  Frogbit is a Tier 2 species in CRISP and is a high priority for management and eventual eradication.

Come ready for mud, sun, and fun! Here’s what to bring:

·      Clothes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy

·      Closed-toed water shoes (water chestnut nutlets are nasty to step on)

·      A watercraft if you have access to one (car-top only please)

·   Plenty of water and a lunch
