Science Friday has designed a nature experience all about a well-loved species of the northeast: American beech trees! Join us in-person in The Catskills, NY to learn about these local wonders, and how you can help forestry researchers with a bit of your time and keen observation skills. If you’ve ever wondered how the trees in your neighborhood are doing—or even what kind of trees they are to begin with—and how you might be able to help them, this event is for you! Come ready to walk with our guides through a wooded area on an easy path for about an hour: comfortable shoes, leg coverings, bottled water and a smartphone recommended.
When:, October 12, 2024 at 10:00am. Arrive early to sign in!
Where: Catskills Visitor Center (Meet at the outdoor pavilion) – 5096 NY-28, Mt. Tremper NY 12457
Tickets: Free! Registration required, and space is limited
