How to use Monitoring and Managing Ash (MaMA) to conserve ash – even in areas hard-hit by EAB

Join Jonathan Rosenthal, Director, Ecological Research Institute (ERI) and Dr. Radka Wildova, Senior Scientist, ERI to learn about ways you can help conserve ash trees in our region.

Selective breeding of “lingering ash” (the small percentage of mature, chemically untreated individuals that remain healthy after the rest have been killed by EAB) has shown great potential for yielding EAB-resistant trees for conservation and restoration of native ash. In this presentation, you’ll learn how to manage ash and participate in MaMA’s citizen-science projects to facilitate the detection of these trees – whether you’re in an area that EAB hasn’t yet reached or one where EAB has already killed almost all the trees.
