CRISP is always seeking help from interested citizens to help protect our communities from invasive species. You can help out with a one-day event or receive training to help us with a long-term project. Whether you like getting outside and hiking long distances or staying inside on your computer, we can use your help. Help Preserve the Ashokan Rail Trail!
The Ashokan Rail Trail (ART) has provided beautiful scenic vistas for the public to enjoy, but there are many invasive species that are growing along the trail. CRISP is leading invasive species removal workdays at the ART throughout May and June. Working with our Partners, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, Ulster County and Woodstock Land Conservancy, we will be holding a series of volunteer workdays to remove invasives from the vistas along the trail and protect one of the treasures of Ulster County. We'll learn how to identify the invasives along the trail and best management practices of how to remove them. To join us, please register here to receive more details.
We Need Lanterfly Spotters!
CRISP is looking for volunteer Lanternfly Spotters to monitor for Spotted Lanternfly. Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive pest from Asia that feeds on 100 plant species including tree-of-heaven and threaten's New York's apple and grape crops. Here's how you can help!
