Integrated Pest Management

Integrated pest Management (IPM) is a way for farmers to effectively control agricultural pests in their fields, maximizing profit, but also minimizing their environmental impact. It uses several techniques in combination and treatments can be customized to each individual farms specific needs. Some of these techniques include nutrient management, cover crops, and biological control. Pesticides are a key component to integrated pest management, but their use is kept to a minimum as to ensure environmental protection.
